A crystal chandelier works well in a classic interior but also as a contrast in an industrial loft or a minimalist living room. The unexpected creates style.

Mistake: a crystal chandelier in a low-ceiling room that forces you to duck. A minimum ceiling height of 2.50 m is required.

The size of the crystal chandelier should be proportionate to your ceiling height. For standard ceilings from 2.40 m to 2.70 m, opt for a chandelier with a diameter of 60 to 90 cm. For higher ceilings, you can go up to 120 cm in diameter.

Crystal and Murano glass chandeliers are the most luxurious and stand the test of time best. However, acrylic versions are also very sturdy and require less maintenance while offering a similar look.

To clean your crystal chandelier, start by turning off the light and carefully removing the crystals. Use a soft, dry cloth to dust the elements. Then, wipe the glass or crystal parts with a slightly damp cloth to make them shine.

The ideal height for installing a crystal chandelier is between 1.80 m and 2.20 m from the floor. This allows for diffuse and flattering light while avoiding the risk of bumps or glare.

To highlight the crystals of a chandelier, it is best to opt for a warm color temperature bulb, between 2700K and 3000K. This will create a warm ambiance and make the crystal or glass shine.
