Percale Bed Linen

Percale is a tightly woven cotton fabric. It has a crisp, matte feel: the higher the thread count, the more luxurious it is.

Percale starts from 200 threads/cm² for quality, 300+ for luxury. Egyptian or Supima cotton for fineness. White for a hotel look, color for personality. Washable at 60°C.

Mistake: percale washed at high temperatures with fabric softener, which damages the fibers. 40°C and no fabric softener to preserve the cotton's quality.

Percale bed linen offers several advantages: it is soft, cool, and pleasant on the skin, it wrinkles little and is easy to wash. Moreover, percale is a durable fabric that resists wear and tear well over time.

To preserve the quality of percale bed linen, it is recommended to machine wash it cold, on a gentle cycle, and to dry it flat or on a low-temperature dryer. Avoid harsh detergents and high-temperature ironing that could alter the material.

The main difference between percale and sateen for bed linen lies in their appearance and feel. Percale has a more matte appearance and a cooler feel, while sateen is shinier and softer to the touch. The choice will depend on your personal preferences in terms of comfort and aesthetics.

For percale bed linen, you can opt for neutral and timeless colors like white, ecru, or grey. You can also choose discreet and elegant patterns, such as stripes or small floral motifs. The important thing is to choose shades and prints that match your decor.

The ideal dimensions for percale bed linen depend on the size of your bed. For a double bed, prefer a flat sheet of about 240x270 cm and pillowcases of 65x65 cm. For a single bed, dimensions of 140x190 cm for the flat sheet and 50x70 cm for the pillowcases will be perfect.
