A rug anchors a space, defines an area, and brings warmth and comfort underfoot. It is one of the most structuring elements in decoration.

For a living room rug: large enough for the front legs of the sofa and armchairs to rest on it. A minimum of 160×230 cm for a standard living room.

Classic mistake: a rug that is too small and floats in the middle of the living room. A large plain rug is better than a small patterned rug.

A rug is a mobile and modular floor covering, while a carpet is a floor covering fixed to the floor. Rugs offer more flexibility and can be changed more easily according to your preferences.

To properly care for your rug, vacuum it regularly, alternating direction. Have it professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months. Avoid excessive water, which could damage it.

A colorful or patterned rug can bring personality and warmth to a room. It can also more easily conceal dirt and stains. Choose patterns that harmonize with the rest of your decor.

The rug size must be appropriate for the space: it should be large enough for your feet to rest on it when you are seated on the furniture. Ideally, leave at least 30 cm of visible floor around the rug.

Wool and synthetic fiber rugs like polypropylene are generally more resistant and durable than cotton or silk rugs. They better withstand daily wear and tear and stains.
