Storage Bed

A storage bed incorporates storage space under the bed base, accessible by lifting the mattress. It's a formidable space-saving solution for small bedrooms.

For a storage bed: check the ease of opening (powerful gas springs), the total height (including mattress), and the resistance of the storage base.

Mistake: a storage bed with weak springs. The mattress is heavy, the springs must keep it open effortlessly.

For a small bedroom, preferably choose a storage bed of size 140x190cm or 160x200cm. These dimensions offer a good compromise between sleeping surface and storage space while taking up minimal room.

The most suitable mattresses for a storage bed are foam or spring models with a thickness of 15 to 20cm. They allow the bed base to be lifted easily without effort. Avoid thicker mattresses, which would make access to the storage more difficult.

To make the most of a storage bed's storage space, use boxes or baskets adapted to the dimensions of the storage area. This will allow you to efficiently organize and store your belongings optimally.

When installing your storage bed, ensure that the bed base is well fixed and stable to avoid any risk of tipping when opening the storage. Also, make sure that the storage opens and closes easily without forcing it.

To keep your storage bed in good condition, regularly clean the inside of the storage and oil the hinges if necessary. Also, avoid overloading the storage to preserve its mechanism in the long term.
